Welcome to The Smaller Majority Blog

Welcome to The Smaller Majority, a nature photography blog. My name is Piotr Naskrecki, and I am an entomologist and a nature photographer; this blog combines these two passions of mine. Here you will find answers to such timeless questions as “What camera do you use?”, “How do you make them sit still?”, and “Aren’t you afraid that it will bite you?”

Although the focus of The Smaller Majority blog is on insects and insect photography, I will often stray towards other photography- and nature-related topics. I hope you will enjoy my musings, and please don’t hesitate to ask me questions.

  1. Nice! I’m looking forward to hear more about your experiences while working on these magnificent little creatures :)

  2. I definitely will be a follower of your new blog! Congrats on taking the plunge. Your book, The Smaller Majority, is one of my all-time favorites and I often give it as a gift to others.

  3. Enjoyed finally sitting down and reading through the blog entries. Though all were familiar from your Facebook posts, reading the mercifully brief (so many other blogs to read these days!) but informative text is a real pleasure.

  4. Muchísimas gracias Piotr por transmitir tantos conocimientos y ponerlos al alcance de todos. Su trabajo es inmejorable. Julián Alonso, desde Argentina.

  5. Finally finished going back through all your posts. I live in Northern Costa Rica and find your images and information on wildlife in my corner of the world very interesting. Your tutorial entries on macro photography are very helpful too. Keep up the good work.
